Behind-the-Scenes Tours

From museum artifacts to research labs of the future: an exclusive tour

The Giant Leaps lab and museum tours are for those who would like an up-close and personal tour of the evidence of MIT’s connections with its past and future. Join us for breakfast and a fascinating morning of artifacts and ongoing, world-class research projects.

Apollo Artifacts

Breakfast and a curator-led showing of rare artifacts that chronicle the Institute’s key role in supporting the missions to the moon and an opportunity to see a new traveling exhibition aimed at exciting young people about the future of aerospace. The MIT Museum will host other special events for the general public throughout the weekend and summer.

New Horizons in Aerospace Research and Development

The next Giant Leaps are emerging right now, in MIT Aero-Astro and Draper research labs. Take a tour -- touch, see, and learn about spacesuits of the future; micro satellites that propel themselves to and fro inside the International Space Station; swarms of autonomous rotorcraft; miniature ion propulsion systems; quiet, low emissions aircraft of the future; new concepts for understanding complex air transportation and space systems; the latest capabilities for computational modeling of fluids and structures; and lots more. Faculty, researchers, and students will be your guides.
